Henna Pics from the Fair

At the Big Fair, I work with another artist, Kree, who is simply an amazing artist. She has been very inspiring in her ease with henna as an artform and with her encyclopedic knowledge of the origin of designs. Very interesting and at any rate we have been having fun creating beautiful art. Here are some pictures of my work. It's long long hours but still a blast! These are all done by my henna co-worker. Are'nt they beautiful!

The Big Fair

I got called on a last minute job to come out to L.A. for a month, so i have been here for a week. I am staying in a luxury apartment with a gorgeous pool and spa, pictured.
Pictured is a photo of some of the Cirque Du Soleilesque performers that come through to entertain. Yesterday, one of them was wearing one of my hats! It was so exciting to see my artwork so alive and still viable!
I'll get a picture next time they come through.
It's fun to be at the fair but also bizarre to see how much junk people carry out of there. Mostly huge stuffed animals the size of your bed! Very strange.
But its all entertaining!

Athena's Sweet 16

That's right! My little girl turned 16 in May ( we are guessing May is her birthday)! She has already had such an adventurous life. Traveling cross country twice, visiting california, the sonoran desert, the gulf coast and even living in New Orleans for several years.
Tough times too. Last year was very hard for her. She had 4 surgeries for tumors last year, 1 emergency room visit for getting attacked by our now dear friend marley, lost her tail and could grow back her hair. Luckily she is healing well, no more tumors have come up and after a year her hair is finally growing in thick and even! Whew! We were afraid she would'nt make it another month this winter but she is the strongest animal i have ever met.
She is the sweetest, gentlest creature i have ever known as well and my very best friend.
So we wanted to make her birthday a celebration of her life. Most of our family came to celebrate with us, doning lots of fabulous gifts for the Sweet 16 princess.
